Bristow, VA – Tony’s Pizza

10314 Bristow Center Dr,

Bristow, VA 20136

A long time standing restaurant in the Manassas area, Tony’s Pizza expanded with a location in Bristow when I was much younger. A dangerous, but exciting, venture for the local residents…because it’s a staple around here. Every Friday, most of the houses in the surrounding neighborhoods of Bristow and Saybrooke would order Tonys.

Personally, we would order two pizzas, a calzone with extra ricotta, and two large Birch beers to share (because it’s the only place locally that you can get it). My husband’s family would always get one pizza, a salad, focascia, a steak supreme sub, and a calzone…and of course two large Birch beers to share.

This time, as a new family, I ordered a calzone with pepperoni and extra ricotta (they all come with mozzarella and ricotta as a standard), and a piece of tiramisu (which was a first for me, surprisingly).

My husband ordered the focascia appetizer, a calzone with no ricotta, add mushrooms, sausage, pepperoni, and extra mozzarella, and his same sandwich. We always take a bunch home (whatever state that is at the moment lol), but ‘Ey, it’s Tony’s’.

So my unbiased conclusion… This is as Italian as you can get in the area. Great fresh cheese is always used, their signature tomato sauce is thin, kind of tart, fresh, and not my favorite, but it’s their own sauce so it goes with the memories. You honestly can’t beat their cheese…and I know I already commented on the cheese, but it’s that good and fresh. The tiramisu was not that great, so I’m glad I had never ordered it before (especially at $5.05). The whipped cream on top wad the consistency of buttercream, the mascarpone filling wad sublime, but the lady fingers had a weird bounce/spring to them, and practically no espresso flavor (it was dry for a tiramisu).

Wins: calzones, pizza, focascia, birch beer. If it’s your first time there, this is what you get, no questions.

Concerns: dry tiramisu, that’s it!

That’s all,
